[[Patris]] jumped behind a tree just in time as I quickly followed suit.<p>"It's a trap!" yelled one of our boys.<p>Thanks, I understood that this wasn't a welcoming party. Squinting, I managed to spot our culprits hidden in the undergrowth. They looked like lizards dressed in loincloths. The [[lizardmen]] were standing ready with their bows, obviously not here for negotiations.</p>}}

"Me and the lads are merely exploring the island."<p>"I will relax you, permanently!" laughed the swashbuckler, drawing his sword.</p>}}

{{encounter row|4, 11, 0|{{Cn|Ogre}}s | The most unpleasant creatures in existence, after wild [[orc]]s, are wild [[ogre]]s. And the latter are even dumber than the former. Dressed in hides with skulls hanging off their fetid clothing, these great shambling green hulks were breaking through the jungle. They could be heard from miles away, and those huge cudgels they carry can smash a human like a bedbug. That's why I advised the troops to quickly retreat to safe ground before opening fire.}}

{{encounter row|9, 11, 0|{{Cn|Iron Golem}}s | "Access denied, password required!" a voice boomed from within the iron statue.<p>The presence of these statues on the island warned me from the beginning. I assumed they were golems, possibly guarding something valuable.<p>"Cap'n, it looks like the guard of an old storehouse of some kind," said [[Patris]], pointing over the golems' backs. "Surely there's lots of booty in there."<p>"Password not given. Trespasser will be killed!" boomed the iron guard, jarring me from my deliberations. Suddenly, the guards attacked!</p>}}

{{encounter row|3, 6, 0|{{Cn|Gorgon}}s | Unexpectedly, we spotted out scout running toward us at top speed. He flew right past me before I could even get a word in. As we scanned our surroundings in confusion, several enormous beasts leapt out from the jungle. They looked like a cross between a cow and a [[basilisk]].}}

{{encounter row|5, 3, 0|{{Cn|Roc}}s | A piercing screech sounded above us. Looking up, I spotted huge predatory birds circling over us. I don't know what we looked like to them, but whether men or mice, we had to be prepared for a sudden attack.}}

{{encounter row|13, 2, 0|{{cn|Dragon Fly|name=Dragon Flies}} | What could be worse than giant carnivorous fireflies living near the river? Perhaps that we were near said river? Perhaps that said fireflies were looking at us? I managed to shoot a few of them down, but it did not deter the rest of them.}}

{{encounter row|16, 13, 0|{{Cn|Serpent Fly|name=Serpent Flies}} | There was a loud stir coming from the jungle. Fueled by curiosity, some of the crew and I went to investigate. As we moved in closer, the sound seemed to be coming toward us! I was about to command the group to turn around, when suddenly a barrage of mosquitoes flew out of the jungle, each the size of a gull. I barely managed to unsheathe my sabre....}}

[[Patris]] jabbed my arm and wouldn't you now it, I turned to see [[mage]]s appear out of thin air.<p>One of them yelled, "Aha! [[Malcom]] wasn't brave enough to show up himself, so he sent [[pirate]]s! But we will not reveal out secrets!"<p>Who the hell is [[Malcom]]? Well, I don't think we'll have time to explain ourselves....}}

{{encounter row|17, 23, 0|{{cn|Crew Mate}}s|We came upon human footprints in the sand.<p>With high hopes, we followed the path, eventually finding a smuggler's hideout. They were unloading something from a boat when they spotted us. They appeared startled, but their sabres came out quickly.<p>"Cap'n, don't kill them all," whispered [[Patris]].<p>"Just kill the hotheaded ones, and maybe the others will join you."</p>}}
