Death cloud or death cloud attack is a special ability of Liches and Power Liches. When attacking at range liches cause a "puff of death", that affects all the adjacent hexes around the target dealing damage to creatures within the radius. However, all non-living creatures (elementals, golems and undead) and war machines are immune to the effects of death cloud. The creature in the target hex still suffers normally from the ranged attack of the liches. Attacking in melee combat, does not cause death cloud to emerge.

Death cloud could potentially harm allied creatures, if liches are combined with living creatures and they are standing within radius of liches death cloud.
