Death stare is a special ability of mighty gorgons. It occurs every time the gorgon stack attacks and may kill units instantly when successful. Every gorgon in the stack has 10% chance to kill an extra enemy unit in addition to any units killed by combat damage. However, the effect is limited to a maximum of one extra kill per 10 mighty gorgons. In other words, stack of ten may kill one extra unit while stack of eleven may kill two.

Death stare has no effect on gargoyles, golems, elemental creatures or undead.
