Any unit attacking a unit it hates will do an extra 50% damage. Note that if a unit hates another unit it also hates the other unit's upgraded version, but hating the upgraded version doesn't automatically mean hating the non-upgraded.
Hate is a special ability of creatures, which causes attacking unit to "burn with anger" and deal 50% more base damage (see damage calculation) to a creature type it hates.

Hate is always mutual: if unit A hates unit B, then unit B hates unit A.
Typically hatred is a symmetric relation that involve both basic and upgraded versions of creatures. For example, Angels hate both Devils and Arch Devils and vice versa. However, Giants and Red dragons do not hate each other nor do they hate their upgraded versions Titans and Black Dragons. Additionally, Titans and Black Dragons hate each other, but Black Dragons also hate Giants.

The following units hate each other:

Hate is a special ability of creatures, which causes attacking unit to "burn with anger" and deal 50% more base damage (see damage calculation) to a creature type it hates.
