The Learning skill is one of those secondary skills that have a good idea but the execution fails completely. The bonuses to experience are so miniscule, that while a hero without the skill would be at level 22, a hero with expert learning from the start would be at level 25. So basically, those three levels are the same levels needed for gaining the expert level on learning.
Learning is one of those [[secondary skill]]s where the idea is good, but the execution fails completely. Even a hero who obtains expert Learning early on will perhaps be only one level-up or so ahead of a hero without Learning, whereas up to three level-ups have to be invested in advancing the skill itself. Consequently, Learning not only costs a secondary skill slot while providing only very few benefits, usually it actually slows down rather than accelerates a hero's advancement in other secondary skills. In practice, therefore, Learning is one of the worst secondary skills.

However, it is worth noting that the hero will grant 3 more primary skills from the 3 additional levels, and heroes who benifit from their level, such as [[Crag Hack]], [[Sandro]] and [[Dessa]] may also find this skill useful.
