An Adventure map object where a hero can gain or lose: (Lose applies only where specifically indicated in brackets below.)


The contents of the box and any guardians are set by the mapmaker.

The box disappears after a hero successfully opens it.

Comments

  • Secondary skills not normally available to a hero class will be learned. For example Leadership can be learned with a Necropolis hero, Death Knights or Necromancers.
  • A hero must have the required level of Wisdom to learn any spells that may be in the box.
  • Much more common on random maps than custom ones. On random maps, one could the contents to be
    • 5000, 10000, 15000, 20000 or 25000 Gold
    • 5000, 10000, 15000, 20000 or 25000 Experience
    • All Spells of either a certain level, or belonging to a certain school
    • A number of creatures, usually between 50 and 100.
