Factory

  1. Go through the 1.7 changelog and commit all changes to the wiki
    • Clear out Special:WantedFiles
    • Go through all campaign scenario heroes (see Template:Campaign hero table)
    • Create Template:Factory unique buildings‏‎
    • Find and add skill probabilities for Mercenary and Artificer
    • Add the Airship
    • Add the Ancient Altar
    • Add the Sleepkeeper
    • Add the Hero Camp
    • Update the creature "parade" map below due to the new and updated creatures.

      • Fixed the order of cutscenes in the Horn of the Abyss campaign
      • When spell research is enabled, the Town Portal and Dimension Door do not drop in the normal guild slots without research, but are guaranteed to drop if 3 research attempts have been made before
      • Hit-n-run ban built into HotA: in two-hero combat, the attacker is forbidden to retreat in the first round of combat after casting a spell (The Diplomat's Mantle allows ignoring the hit-n-run ban (only for surrender).)
      • Changed the Tomb reward from 500-5000 to 1500-4000 Gold NOTE: This referred to the Grave. Good job, BasicEagleEye!
      • Creatures now cast spells on elemental magical terrains at Expert level if the magical terrain matches the school of magic
      • Mana Vortex is now activated manually and can only be used by a guest hero. Additionally, AI hero allies cannot use Mana Vortex in the player's castle
      • Added ability to view and dismiss war machines (except the catapult) in the hero window and kingdom overview
      • Placement of the Pub and the Grotto have been swapped in the Cove Town Hall screen Nothing needed for this. --Legate (talk) 22:25, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
      • Sacrifice now works on Gold Dragons!

  1. Write tips on campaign scenario pages (212.112.111.20)
    • Sometimes there are tips on the main campaign pages under User Commentary. (e.g. Dragon's Blood)
    • I've noticed there are a bunch of strategy/tips on https://mightandmagic.fandom.com/wiki/Tunnels_of_Ice. Should/Can we cite/copy that info here or leave a link to them?
      • The CC BY-SA seems like a very open license. I would just add attribution using the appropriate link (to the edit summary)

Research/Explain game concepts

  1. Breath Attack could use a diagram of how it works (specifically when attacking straight up or down)

      • This may be affected by Mechanics and Engineers as these are the first 1-tile creatures with a breath attack.
        • ANECDOTE: I did notice a...bug? nuance?...with attacker's Engineers attacking in the down-left direction vs. a 2-tile enemy not hitting the expected second tile. --Legate (talk) 16:11, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
  2. Obstacle Penalty could use a diagram or explanation of how it works. Is it everything inside the ring wall? Does obstacle penalty disappear when the wall goes down?

Content: Page Creation/Updating

  1. Design a new main page. Save it on [[your user page/main page]] so we can see it. Candidates:
    • Phasma / Makiki
    • I won't have time to make a mockup before the new year, but what if we used one of the blank main menu screens from Category:Loading Screens, Box Art, Menus (e.g. File:AB Mutare.png) and added our own icons (e.g. Creatures, Spells, etc.) over on the right? --Legate (talk) 14:15, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

  2. Map Editor could use a bunch more info or link to a map editor tutorial.

  4. Can scenarios have multiple loss conditions? Many campaign scenario descriptions are worded this way (e.g. Fall of Sandro). Is there a way to look this up in-game or in the map editor?
    • Yes they do have multiple loss conditions, but using both the SoD and HotA map editor on Fall of Sandro, I can't find anything that causes this. Guess we'll have to look into it as to how it's done, but yes, some of the maps definitely have a couple of loss conditions. → Phasma 01:39, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
  5. Single scenarios: Add all the timed/object events like seen on the campaign scenarios.

    • I'm of two minds on this one. On one hand, they just feel like a low-res version of the actual map, on the other, they sometimes make it a little easier to tell what is going on (See From the Depths of Hell). I think I am leaning towards not showing them to reduce clutter on the scenario page, or maybe hiding them in their own heading like User commentary. --Legate (talk) 02:32, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

File upload/editing

  1. Upload all original (and HotA) images, preserving the names (as they are in the game data). For now we kind of have it started with the category:misc pictures. But it could probably be organized better (maybe call it the game data category instead). Once this is done, anyone who wants can browse these files and turn them into redirects for more appropriate names once a use for them is found in the wiki.

  2. The pics for Template:Cove unique buildings are a different size from all the other towns' unique buildings. Edit them to match.
  3. Add the remaining map files.
  4. Add the campaign map pictures for each campaign scenario (on the screen where you select the level bonus before the cinematic plays). (Page: e.g. Groundbreaking)
    • Looking for (with the current level colored in and previous levels covered in slashes), not (base pic with nothing colored in)

  1. Most of the the victory conditions should include 'or defeat all enemies'. Investigate and fix Template:Scenario, Template:ScenarioVars table and Template:CLevelsRow
