Summoned numbers of elementals are equal to twice the hero's power at basic level.

{{user commentary|
All Summon Elemental spells are quite powerful. That being said, Air Elementals have the lowest stats amongst the elementals. Since they are summoned equal to hero's power just as all others, this makes the Summon Air Elemental spell weaker than the others.

On the plus side, Air Elementals are the fastest among their kind. This makes them the best disposable troop to take retaliations off slow, hard-hitting enemies. Also it is on a popular magic school with powerful spells like Chain Lightning, Fly and Dimension Door; thus, you are more likely to have chosen to advance to Expert Air Magic for reduced cost and up to twice the quantity (4x hero's Spell Power primary skill). At least, that is when compared to summoning Fire and Water elementals.

When comparing Air Elementals and Earth Elementals, Air Elementals have a lot less of HP (25 vs 40) and deal less average damage (though they are equal with [[Bless]]), but are faster. Having one less in Attack and Defense stats is a disadvantage too, though a slight one.
