In addition to recruiting Wyverns from Wyvern Nests, they can be received as a reward from Dragon Fly Hives.

They are considered to be the worst level 6 unit, together with the manticores and scorpicores, bearing under-average health. However, the Wyvern Monarchs can be used to poison enemy stacks, lowering their max health by 10% for three turns.
Slow and easy to kill when engaged, they should be upgraded immediately, since 4 speed is too little for the adventure map. They are also the only Stronghold shooter for a long time, since you will obtain Cyclopes only later on.
