Expansions

Expansions typically refers to official additions Armageddon's Blade and Shadow of Death, which both connect to the storyline of the Heroes of Might and Magic III: Restoration of Erathia. Both expansions may be installed separately, and require the original game in order to work. Sometimes Heroes Chronicles is considered to be an expansion, although it is more aimed as an introduction for beginners to the Heroes of Might and Magic -series. The Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete is a collection, that inculded the original Restoration of Erathia game and both expansions Armageddon's Blade and Shadow of Death.

Armageddon's Blade adds:

• New town called Conflux
• Two new artifacts: Armageddon's Blade and Vial of Dragon Blood
• New campaigns
• New heroes
• New creatures

Shadow of Death adds:

• Combination artifact
• New campaigns
• New heroes
• New creatures

Other noteworthy HoMM3-related projects

• Wake of Gods - Unofficial and perhaps the most popular expansion, which adds a lot of new features.
• HoMM3 HD mod - Addon pack for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and the expansions, which mainly improves the user interface, adds new functionality and repairs some original bugs.
• VCMI Project - The goal of the project is to rewrite the entire H3 engine (VCMI is NOT another mod) giving it new possibilities.
