:For what my opinion is worth, I do not think that these unofficial towns are necessary for this wiki. Personally I would like that we would concentrate on the original homm roe and the official expansion ab and sod. I believe Ibraesil feels about the same. –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 13:54, 11 January 2018 (CET)

:: Which do you prefer Terra? The proposal with unofficial towns or the one without? How about one with only Cove? This is what I would personally choose. Also what is your opinion on having Cove in the sidebars throughout the site? I believe that hota is a worthy successor to sod.
:: --imahero 16:35, 11 January 2018 (CET)

::: Well I kinda like the one with all of them, makes people curious and start exploring. I don't know the current state of WoG tho, if that's buggy / substandard it might be best to leave it out from the list. But if that's still good I prefer the one with all :) Lets us have a space for potential other ones in the future. Also, considering unlocking the front page. We generally don't have much vandalism these days
::: --Terrasque (talk) 20:26, 11 January 2018 (CET)

:::: Awesome! So you're OK with Cove on the sidebars throughout the site? It greatly increases usability of the site for those of us playing with HotA and I honestly don't think it should impact those playing SoD (in the same way those playing RoE wouldn't really be affected by having a Conflux link for those playing AB or SoD).
:::: --imahero 20:28, 11 January 2018 (CET)

:::::I am not entirely aware what imahero's intentions are, but as I understood it he/she wishes to mix fanbased mod information with the original data. imahero, am I correct? To me this seems illogical and confusing for everyone, because where do we draw the line after that. How do we separate what information is worthy and what is unworthy to add to this wiki? Now the "rules" are clear, the main wiki contains information only from the official game and perhaps a few anekdotes around it. And if we crosslink these different information sources then it quickly becomes unclear what features are available in each different version of the game and all its mods. In summary, my biggest fear is, that the wiki becomes a web of pointless information about some nonsense mods. –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 06:15, 12 January 2018 (CET)

:::::: Nah. Like I said before. Just links to Cove in the sidebar to increase usability for those of us playing with HotA. No other mod comes anywhere close to the level of HotA.
:::::: --imahero 06:34, 12 January 2018 (CET)

:::::::Because you develop it? ;) I admit that I am not too familiar with HotA, but to me it seems difficult to draw a line between different mods. Next week some a new user comes along and starts to write about WoG or some other. I just think there are other places and platforms to deal with these mods than this wiki. –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 07:25, 12 January 2018 (CET)

:::::::: Haha. No.
:::::::: I don't think a link back to Cove is asking too much. Some people ban Conflux. Should we remove it from the sidebar too? Horn of the Abyss does more for the game than both of the two official expansions combined.
:::::::: --imahero 07:30, 12 January 2018 (CET)

::::::::: We should have information on noteworthy unofficial stuff - noteworthy being somewhat subjective - but it should be clearly marked and separated from information about the official game. So on it's own pages, not mixed into pages about official information. "Official" pages can hold references to it, as long as it's marked as unofficial content and it makes sense to link to it. Also, we should try not to play favorites :) So for sidebar, if it's in it's own "Unofficial" section and also refers to WoG one.
::::::::: The reason I want noteworthy / good unofficial addons listed is because they add significantly to the game, and active players / fans should know that they exist and what they are. But at the same time clearly have them separate from the official game.
::::::::: --Terrasque (talk) 08:30, 12 January 2018 (CET)

:::: Ah damn.. Sorry, thought I had replied here. I see it's simpler, but I don't see it being better than what's now. The current page immediately let you jump to something central and familiar - the towns, and lets you explore the wiki from there. I think that's a great start spot if you're not already looking for something specific. And having things like the Forge there directly is an eye catcher and prods people's curiosity. Maybe someone realize they don't know quite as much as they thought about the game, and start reading. There might be things to improve on the front page, but I think those belong there and have a purpose.
Verified statements
* Adventure map objects can be reactivated by pressing the space bar. This action doesn't cost any movement points and allows, for example, unlimited cycling through two-way monoliths. (Does not work in roe).
* All living Dragons and Hydras become Bone Dragons in the Skeleton Transformer. Bone Dragons will turn to simple Skeletons.
* All effects of creature abilities (e.g. dendroids' binding) can be dispelled except Wyvern Monarchs' poison, which can be cured though.
* All spells cannot be disabled from the map. There must be at least one spell from each level.
* Almost all non-upgraded wandering creatures look to the right side, while upgraded creatures look to the left side. (Exceptions are Water and Earth Elementals.
* Anti-Magic can only be removed with expert level Dispel or with Dragon Fly's dispel ability (the ability was introduced in roe 1.4).
* Any creatures with double attack can get lucky twice in a row.
* Arrow towers cause more damage to heroes with Armorer, although it should be the other way round. This also applies to Air Shield.
* Artifacts affect also Cloned creatures.
* Badge of Courage prevents all mind spells. The spellbook and wand symbol do appear, but spells like Berserk will have no effect.
* Battles in the subterranean level are always considered to take place on subterranean terrain. However, movement works normally.
* Berserk can be cast on Undead creatures if Orb of Vulnerability is present. However, they are still immune to Blind.
* Cavaliers are upgraded to Champions for free at Stables located on the Adventure Map.
* Cloned creatures also copy the ability to cast spells. For example, Ogre Magi can cast Bloodlust or Archangel can cast Resurrection.
* Dispel nor Cure cannot remove the effect of Disrupting Ray.
* Even though Black Dragons are immune to all creature abilities (e.g. stone gaze), they can still be binded by dendroids.
* Even though Black Dragons are immune to all spells, they still receive damage from Efreet Sultans' Fire Shield.
* Having at least one Rogue in hero's army has the same effect basic Visions has.
* Land Mines do no affect creatures with magic immunity (e.g. Magic Elementals) (Heroes v1.4 or Complete only)
* Having two (or more) same legion artifacts on one hero only gives the growth bonus once. However, two heroes with the same legion artifact on garrison and visiting slots of the town, give bonuses for both.
* Master Genies can and will cast Cure on friendlies.
* Morale bonus for visiting Temple on day 7 is +2. Also, Idol of Fortune gives +1 to both Morale and Luck.
* Odds of wandering creatures joining you depends on what troops you have with you (and whether or not you have Diplomacy).
* The only spell that can affect Black Dragons is expert Dispel.
* Pikemen and Halberdiers are immune to Cavaliers and Champions jousting bonus (+5% damage per hex they cross).
* Stone and Obsidian Gargoyles cannot be resurrected because they are non-living creatures. However, they can get Morale, unlike Golems or Elementals.
* Orb of Vulnerability breaks creatures' natural immunities to magic, but not artifact-granted immunities.
* Tower moat's Land Mines are treated similarly as the spell, and therefore they can be Dispelled, creatures with magic immunities are unaffected by them, and Orb of Tempestuous Fire increase their damage.
* Tree of Knowledge gives experience equal to the difference between a hero's next level and current level.
* Windmill never produces wood W.
* With Necromancy skill, you get more Skeletons than Skeleton Warriors (because of the health difference).
* It's possible for a hero to have no troops if you deposit them at a Seer's Hut or Quest Guard. Upon entering a battle, you will instantly lose as soon as the pre-battle music ends.
* Spells cast by the Armor of the Damned combined with Orb of Vulnerability will work in an Anti-Magic Garrison.
* Luck stacks with the Dread Knight's Death Blow.
* You can delete artifacts by trading with an allied hero in multiplayer and having the artifact selected with your mouse (as you're dragging it) as the other player exits the trade window.
* Resurrection spell can appear in the Mage Guild of Necropolis despite the fact that it cannot be used on any of the creatures it creates, hence the use of Animate Dead.

Unverified claims
* Archangels resurrect fewer creatures with health artifacts on, but Pit Lords raise more creatures with additional health points with health artifacts?
* You can mark a path max. 602 tiles long on ground and 594 tiles long on water?
* Gold Dragons are susceptible to Dispel cast by heroes, the Resurrection part of Sacrifice (but not the Sacrification), Ghost Dragon's Aging, War Unicorn's Blinding and Medusa Queen's Stone Gaze?
:For what my opinion is worth, I do not think that these unofficial towns are necessary for this wiki. Personally I would like that we would concentrate on the original homm roe and the official expansion ab and sod. I believe Ibraesil feels about the same. –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 13:54, 11 January 2018 (CET)
How about one with only Cove? This is what I would personally choose. Also what is your opinion on having Cove in the sidebars throughout the site? I believe that hota is a worthy successor to sod.
:: --imahero 16:35, 11 January 2018 (CET)

::: --Terrasque (talk) 20:26, 11 January 2018 (CET)

:::: --imahero 20:28, 11 January 2018 (CET)

:::::::Because you develop it? ;) I admit that I am not too familiar with HotA, but to me it seems difficult to draw a line between different mods. I just think there are other places and platforms to deal with these mods than this wiki. –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 07:25, 12 January 2018 (CET)

:::::::: Haha. No.
:::::::: I don't think a link back to Cove is asking too much. Some people ban Conflux. Should we remove it from the sidebar too? Horn of the Abyss does more for the game than both of the two official expansions combined.
:::::::: --imahero 07:30, 12 January 2018 (CET)

Creature Dwelling refers either a building in a town or a structure that can be found on the Adventure Map. They are living places of creatures that can be hired. Each dwelling produces a unique number of creatures each week. In towns the growth is cumulative, which means that the creatures not hired will remain in the dwellings. In Adventure Map dwellings the number of creatures cannot exceed the weekly growth. Also, a hero must visit the dwelling in order to recruit the creatures while a player can hire creatures from town dwellings into town garrison.

Only non-upgraded creatures can be hired from the Adventure Map dwellings. The exception is Golem Factory, which provides in addition to Stone Golems also Iron Golems, Gold Golems and Diamond Golems. Interestingly enough, the graphic representations of most of the external dwellings resemble the corresponding upgraded town dwellings, despite yielding only non-upgraded units.

The cost of creatures is the same as in towns and Adventure Map, except level 1 creatures, which are recruited for free from Adventure Map dwellings. Once the dwelling fly under the player's Flag, all associated dwellings in towns receive +1 growth bonus. For example, flagging a Centaur Stables will provide +1 for Centaur and Centaur Captain growth in each Rampart the player owns.

In addition, on the Adventure Map creature dwelling of level 5, 6 and 7 are guarded by non-upgraded versions of the creatures the dwelling produces. The number of creatures is growth times three, which means that level 7 dwellings are guarded by 3 (with exception of Pyre guarded by 6 Firebirds), level 6 by 6 and level 5 by 9 creatures. The guards are renewed at the beginning of each week, which means that the dwelling may be re-flagged for free by enemy heroes any number of times during that week. If a hero retreats or is defeated, only the surviving guards will be there if another hero attacks in the same week.
Azure Dragons are level 10 neutral creatures that can be recruited from Frozen Cliffs, which can only be located on the Adventure Map. Like all the neutral creatures, they cannot be upgraded. Azure Dragon have the highest attack, defense, damage and health values of all the creatures making them arguably the strongest units in the game. Additionally, their ability to spread Fear among the enemies, causing them to freeze and lose their combat round action, can turn the tide of the battle. Placing Azure Dragons (as well as any living Dragons) in the Skeleton Transformer will give you Bone Dragons instead of regular Skeletons.

Azure Dragons have the highest AI Value of any creature, with 78845.

Azure Dragons were added in ab so there are no Azure Dragons or Frozen Cliffs in roe.

Fear special ability
Azure Dragon's fear special ability is a passive ability, which means it does not require any specific action from the stack. The fear may occur only at the beginning of enemy stack's turn, causing them to freeze in fear of the Azure Dragons and effectively lose their chance to act that combat round. The working principle is very similar to bad morale.
Crystal Dragons are level 10 neutral creatures recruited from the Crystal Cavern.

Made entirely from red crystal and brought to life through magical means, the crystal dragon is literally semi-transparent, lit from the center by its magical heart. Used frequently as a training tool for young dragon slayers, many wizards also create these creatures for the crystal it sheds. Placing Crystal Dragons (as well as any living Dragons) in the Skeleton Transformer will give you Bone Dragons instead of regular Skeletons.

Crystal generation special ability
Crystal Dragons have vaguely phrased special ability called crystal generation. It produces three crystals (3x C) at the beginning of each week if the player has at least one crystal dragon in any of his armies. The effect is not cumulative, which means that several crystal dragon stacks in a hero's army or several crystal dragon stacks in different heroes' armies does not produce more than the three crystals.
Rust Dragons are level 10 neutral creatures recruited from the Sulfurous Lair, which can only be found from the Adventure Map.

Rust dragons are known to hunt Gorgons, and live and feed in sulfur mines. With this appetite, rust dragons spew a concentrated acid as their primary attack. This acid is capable of eating through the strongest armor, lowering the defense of its target while inflicting further damage. Placing Rust Dragons (as well as any living Dragons) in the Skeleton Transformer will give you Bone Dragons instead of regular Skeletons.

With their incredibly high speed, health, and attack damage, Rust Dragons are generally considered the third strongest creatures in the game, following only Azure Dragons and Crystal Dragons in raw stats.

Rust Dragons were added in ab so there are no Rust Dragons or Sulfurous Lairs in roe.

Acid breath special ability
Acid breath special ability may occur after a stack of Rust Dragons have attacked target creature stack and before the stack has a chance to retaliate. Faerie Dragons' main attack method is to cast offensive spells. A stack of faerie dragons can cast up to five spells per combat. The spells are randomly chosen for the stack, and the occurrence probabilities can be seen from the table on the left. The spells are cast with advanced expertise, and with spell power equal to five times the number of faerie dragons in the stack. If commanded to attack an enemy that is immune to the spell they are currently preparing, they will use a melee attack instead.

While fighting on cursed ground, Faerie Dragons can cast all the spells, but they cause no damage. The only effective spell is Magic Arrow.

Faerie Dragons have a 20% chance to reflect targeted spells with Magic Mirror. Faerie Dragons ignore the Orb of Inhibition in some stances of combat i.e. they cast offensive spells despite the presence of the orb.

Faerie Dragons were added in ab so there are no Faerie Dragons or Magic Forests in roe.
