Since arriving from [[Enroth (nation)|Enroth]], Lord Haart has been outwardly loyal to the kingdom of Erathia. In truth, he turned traitor and eventually poisoned [[King Gryphonheart]] under orders from [[Finneas Vilmar]]. Later, during the battle against the resurrected Lich King Gryphonheart, Lord Haart was called upon, unaware that his betrayal of the crown is known to Nicolas' heir, [[Catherine]]. He is brought along so that the king may avenge himself before being put to rest.

Some time after his death, Lord Haart is raised as a Death Knight. His story continues under {{Hn|Haart Lich|0=}}.

In [[Maker of Sorrows]], it is mentioned that he is the owner of a powerful sword built by [[Galen]].
