#** Interesting, I haven't heard of an image map before :)! What does the image map give us that a table wouldn't? The ability to arrange the towns in something other than a strict grid? #** Image maps allow the linking of pages to certain clickable areas in an image; for example, a table can be prerendered at a specific size and certain areas of it can be clickable, which will then link to certain pages. It just eliminates the need to code a whole table and just have it as an image that can easily be positioned anywhere on the page but with clickable areas.
