== History ==
During the [[Restoration Wars]] Nighon was allied with the [[Kreegan]]s. With their help Nighon forces successfully captured [[Steadwick]], but were later defeated by [[Erathian]]s and their allies. The Kreegans abandoned them.

While the various rulers of Nighon constantly clashed in internal struggles for supremacy as well as for expansion (such as the campaign against [[Erathia]]), the nation was a monarchy. 

Mutare set out to unite the country under her scepter, in which she succeeded soon after killing [[Ordwald]]. She then waged wars on the continent, which are described in the Heroes Chronicles [[Clash of the Dragons]] campaign. Shortly after her defeat by the allied forces of [[AvLee]] and Erathia, she was killed by [[Dracon]].

Tarnum at least partially took over Nighon some time before [[The Reckoning]] in the [[Sword of Frost]] campaign.

In [[The Tree Killer]]{{-wh}}, tavern rumors mention [[catfolk]] living in the eastern deserts of Nighon.
