== Capitalization == Hello. I have noticed that you have done a great job with the articles. Specially with the grammar. As I am not a native English speaker, some of the grammar rules are confusing to me. You recently have changed capitalization of secondary skills. For example, in Alamar you changed expert Scholar to Expert Scholar. While I do not doubt that it is correct, I am interested in why it so? Why not justa advanced or expert Scholar? And to be honest, I do not undestand why secondary skills' first letter is capital. :) βKapteeni Ruoska (talk) 06:29, 8 September 2015 (CEST) :Thank you. I remember seeing it being capitalised elsewhere on the wiki (for example on the Scouting page, it says, "The following heroes all start with Basic Scouting:" and, "The following heroes all start with Advanced Scouting:"). I don't have a physical copy of the manual, but according to this pdf copy of the manual (pages 35-39), it lists the effects for "Basic", "Advanced" and "Expert" versions of each skill, rather than "basic", "advanced" and "expert". Also this screenshot and this screenshot of gameplay use capitals. I could well be wrong in thinking that it should be capitalised (none of those examples were in the middles of sentences), but I think it's safe to assume that they should be capitalised. Ibraesil (talk) 08:11, 8 September 2015 (CEST) ::I do have that same PDF-manual, and that is reason enough for me to write them with capitals. :) βKapteeni Ruoska (talk) 08:31, 8 September 2015 (CEST) ::: From what I can tell, the game designers are attempting to follow the rules of English in the manuals, but they do make a few mistakes. For example, the word 'angels' is capitalized at the beginning of sentences and also when it's part of a title. Everywhere else it's lowercase, with the exception being once in the tutorial manual when 'Archangels' is randomly used in the middle of a sentence (however, in the very next paragraph, it's back to 'archangels'). So if we are following the manual, we are also actually following the wikipedia capitalization conventions. Like Ibraesil mentioned on the Crypt talk page, the problem is deciding when something is considered a proper noun by the game designers. For this we can search the word list and if it is unclear, we might need to check the manuals to see the context and decide if it has been most consistently used as a proper noun or not. For each subject, we can put our decisions in the capitalization reference. ::: --imahero 22:38, 7 January 2017 (CET) :::: I've gone ahead and manually counted how many creature names are capitalised more often than not, according to the word list you linked (and with the help of the List of creatures page). I counted singular and plural forms as one, and I found that 15 words* (out of 141 total creatues. 18 if you count "master" twice for gremlin/genie, "warrior" twice for skeleton/lizard, and "cerebus/cerebi" which don't appear at all) in creature names are capitalised either less or the same as not, and many of those are words like "green", "war", "greater", "battle", "walking", etc., which are likely to appear often outside of creature names, skewing the results. To be fair, there are also some words like "Gold" which are probably being capitalised in other places, so the errors might not be in only one direction, but there are definitely more words skewing towards "capitalised less" than the other way around. I do think what I've done is a good indication that the manual probably tends to treat creature names as proper nouns. Without looking at the context for every creature name, like you have (which I don't want to do :P ), I can't really get a better idea of what the manual does, but yeah. 6 words in creature names are capitalised as often as not and 9 are capitalised less than half the time out of 141 creature names (a Horde of which have more than one word in them). I personally think creature names should count as proper nouns for the purposes of capitalisation on this wiki. Ibraesil (talk) 07:30, 12 January 2018 (CET) ::::: I think most of what we see are the creature names being used in titles. It makes them look weird when they're in the middle of a sentence lowercase. This is probably how it should be, but I'm fine with whatever at this point. ::::: --imahero 07:37, 12 January 2018 (CET) :::::: That's a possibility I hadn't considered. It is also easier to have them capital, though, because that's how the wiki is at the moment, and it'd take a lot of effort to change everything Ibraesil (talk) 07:42, 12 January 2018 (CET) ::::::: I couldn't help myself looking through the manual, and it does seem like creature names are lowercase, when they're not used in titles.
