I think the main issue is that on scenario pages, several color schemes are now used together. Those color schemes are not a problem on hero pages, creature pages, artifact pages, etc. because then there's only one color scheme. For that reason, I suppose one way to fix the garishness issue would be to use also a single color scheme for scenario tables.
