Latest revision as of 15:23, 2 December 2025
Courtyard is a VCMI town created by Trith, with special thanks to avatar, Kammer, Andruids, AmiDaDeer and the Mod Design Team (MDT). Its architecture and theme is heavily influenced by the Baroque movement of the 17th and 18th centuries, with additional inspiration from alchemy and whimsical tales.
Courtyard is a Good alignment town, home to the Aristocrat and Philosopher hero classes.
Courtyard represents Larnia, an island designed to fit within the existing Heroes of Might and Magic III lore. Originally settled as a penal colony, the discovery of vast veins of philosopher's stone has turned it into a haven for alchemists and researchers, leading to the rapid development of a new nation and attracting many adventurers and merchants.
The native terrain of Courtyard is Grass.
Courtyard's Blacksmith sells Potion Carts, its Mage Guild reaches Level 5, and its Resource Silo provides Wood and Ore.

Trivia[edit | hide]
- Prior to the release of the Courtyard in 2020, an older, potentially leaked version of the town known as the "Court" was published by Zeryss in 2017. Its design and layout was vastly different due to it being an unfinished product, but some holdovers such as the fountain and generally cuboid-shaped buildings carried over to the Courtyard. Its lineup was also in a far more preliminary stage, though it bore likeness to that of the Courtyard:
- The Goose was abandoned
- The Mandrake and Baroness designs were merged into the current Level 6 Mandrake
- The Walker was abandoned
- The Sculpture was completely redesigned and became the Level 1 Cupid
- The Homunculus was redesigned and shifted from being the Level 4 unit to the Level 2 unit
- The Dodo shifted from being the Level 7 unit to the Level 5 unit
- Some elements of the Courtyard have appeared in Day of Reckoning teasers, such as the Mandrake creature and the Reconstruction spell.
