:You are absolutely correct, that would be more simple to have just one template with few variables. And to be honest here, I am not sure this is even wise to do it this way. Anyway, my point here to "easily" create list of hero names + class. This way only <nowiki>{{heroname}}</nowiki> would give just that. Creating a template with few variables would defeat the purpose, e.g. <nowiki>{{hero|heroname|heroclass}}</nowiki> would be the same amount of work than writing "heroname the heroclass". Of course, this is quite a lot of work to create templates. So all in all, not sure which is wiser. :D –[[User:Kapteeni Ruoska|Kapteeni Ruoska]] ([[User talk:Kapteeni Ruoska|talk]]) 10:25, 20 October 2015 (CEST)

You are absolutely correct, that would be more simple to have just one template with few variables. And to be honest here, I am not sure this is even wise to do it this way. Anyway, my point here to "easily" create list of hero names + class. This way only {{heroname}} would give just that. Creating a template with few variables would defeat the purpose, e.g. {{hero|heroname|heroclass}} would be the same amount of work than writing "heroname the heroclass". Of course, this is quite a lot of work to create templates. So all in all, not sure which is wiser. :D –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 10:25, 20 October 2015 (CEST)

I'm not quite sure what the difference is between this and {{Cn|Black Dragon}} Ibraesil (talk) 03:46, 2 December 2015 (CET)

Oh yes! No diffrence whatsoever. I actually tried to look for that template but could not find it. Why don't we have one for heroes too, or do we? –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 07:02, 2 December 2015 (CET)
Hmm, of course it would be diffrent for the heroes as they also have hero class in their name. And we already discussede wheter or not hero "name + calss" templates are useful. –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 07:14, 2 December 2015 (CET)
The closest equivalent to this for heroes would probably be Template:Hn, but I believe you said that you were making the individual Hero templates (like Template:Orrin, etc.) because those ones include the hero class. And I think you didn't want to just add a variable to Hn because you didn't want to have to look up or check the class of a hero every time. (I wrote out this reply and then when I tried to save it, it said there was a newer version of the page, but I'll not change what I had already written) Ibraesil (talk) 02:24, 4 December 2015 (CET)
True. I think templates' purpose is to make things easy, and there is no point in writing {{Hn|Orrin|the Knight}} insted of just {{Orrin}}. Of course it would be possible to add all kinds of data to {{Hn|}} so perhaps in the future I will change my opinnion, but for now I would proceed with these hero templates and bury the idea of this kind of creature templates. –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 06:56, 4 December 2015 (CET)
