::::im afraid the only effect the new rule list will have its someone gillging after finding this page in ten years once again. as for me, i think we should stick to in-game 'capitalize it all' style. a player has a full right not to know if the manual exists at all, but ull get nowhere from 'the Labyrinth is guarded by several Minotaurs' window. that means all ur lowercase list is going up except for the individual terms. besides, with 'skeletons and skeleton warriors' we are losing 'Skeletons' as the basic tier one necropolis creatures and 'skeletons' as both basic and upgraded ones. | ||

My New Proposed Policy
Capitalized/Title Case
- acronyms (RoE, AB, SoD, HotA)
- companies (New World Computing, The 3DO Company, Ubisoft)
- heroes (Caitlin, Solmyr, Dessa)
- places (Erathia, Bracada, Krewlod)
Lowercase
- buildings (village hall, town hall, city hall, capitol, fort, citadel, castle, tavern)
- classes (alchemist, battle mage)
- creatures (angel, archangel)
- individual terms (hero, experience points, spell points, movement points)
- primary skills (attack, defense, knowledge, power)
- spells (haste, magic arrow, chain lightning)
- war machines (catapult, ballista, first aid tent, ammo cart)
Wonky/Inconsistent Capitalization in the Manuals
The capitalization in the manuals is so wonky and inconsistent I really want to just throw it out and stick to proper language (only capitalizing proper nouns and words that are in actual titles (and only the first word of a sentence)). 08:09, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia considers section headings the same as sentences with only the first letter being capitalized. 08:30, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia also recommends not capitalizing the second or subsequent words in an article title (unless the title is a proper name). 08:44, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- I would prefer following the wikipedia naming conventions and using them as our go to authority. Just keep in mind that we would need to change many page names to lower case if we choose to do this. 09:30, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- im afraid the only effect the new rule list will have its someone gillging after finding this page in ten years once again. as for me, i think we should stick to in-game 'capitalize it all' style. a player has a full right not to know if the manual exists at all, but ull get nowhere from 'the Labyrinth is guarded by several Minotaurs' window. that means all ur lowercase list is going up except for the individual terms. besides, with 'skeletons and skeleton warriors' we are losing 'Skeletons' as the basic tier one necropolis creatures and 'skeletons' as both basic and upgraded ones.
- fully capitalized page names look weird to me either.
- and im not sure if the general wiki naming conventions can be of any use for us. were not describing some birds or minerals here - our object is complex enough and already has its own capitalization system. sacrificing this system in the name of abstract wiki gods will cause nothing but confusion for the users. --GroundhogYear (talk) 10:01, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- what is much more important for me now is the search previews. 'archery heroes 3' shows heroes with starting archery list. 'armorer heroes 3' shows fanopinion stuff. im scared --GroundhogYear (talk) 10:09, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- I could use my bot to fix everything. 10:17, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- is this a threat? --GroundhogYear (talk) 10:18, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
