* Bug vs. not bug - ok. Undead morale penalty should not be mentioned, as anyone who played Heroes 3 for at least a week knows about it so that's obvious. However, if we write that any other faction, including neutral creatures, doesn't cancel the morale effect for mixing Rampart, Tower, Fortress, Stronghold and Castle (+ Conflux & Cove in HotA), e.g. with Castle, Tower, and Inferno units it is 0 morale as if there were 2 factions, it would be a complete explanation. Personally I love this site for detailed explanations.--Dread Knight (talk) 06:00, 6 May 2021 (UTC) | * Bug vs. not bug - ok. :::Thanks Imahero! I think it should be the final version (just added that evil towns don't give bad morale). I speak English, but it's not my native language, thus you helped a lot to explain it properly.--Dread Knight (talk) 11:07, 8 May 2021 (UTC) | :::Thanks Imahero! Does this artifact work for neutral creatures?[edit | hide | hide all]

- You mean the "negate morale penalty" thing? If yes, then no. --Mortarial (talk) 08:23, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
More discussion[edit | hide]
sorry, thought "as if they were from one faction" and "as if they were from one town" are clear enough. maybe we should rephrase the whole description.
If an evil alignment creature appears in the army... - conflux and neutral creatures are omitted, which makes the main point extremely confusing.
events which change morale and penalty for having undead - more distracting details. the whole explanation if the buff still applies when other town alignments are present in the army is turning to the general talk of town alignment morale mechanics. but for this we already have the alignment#town alignment table, which, imho, doesnt need any further explanations. and duplicating it at the artifact page in any form is unneeded.
as for the 'a bug or not a bug' issue. 'not a bug' is based: on a) in-game and manual descriptions ("Rampart, Tower, Fortress, Stronghold and Castle creatures"), and b) the fact that Conflux already was in the game by the time combination artifacts were introduced.
a) is not so convincing, because we have more than enough examples of wrong statements there. b) looks solid, but the strange town list still needs a clear lore explanation.
'a bug' version is based on the map editor rightclick description ("good and neutral town creatures"), i.e. HEROES3.HLP file, which was used as a foundation for many guides (this wiki included, thats why we have 'good and neutral' at the very first edit of the page). HEROES3.HLP is full of errors either, so we have just the power of tradition here.
the only useful in this behalf piece of lore was found in Wrath of Sandro - the 7th scenario of Unholy Alliance campaign:
Day 23
The nights in the library paid off. You discovered what the Angelic Alliance is. It is a powerful sword created of six other pieces and allowing the three opposing towns to not suffer morale penalties no matter which hero actually carries the blade...
and, as u can see, its just 'three opposing towns', so it doesnt confirm any version. (was just too bored to find out which three towns the message was talking about, i cannot stand homm lore for too long. not sure if its explained anywhere either).
as for me, we have a draw here, gentlemen --GroundhogYear (talk) 17:47, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
