A target surviving a melee attack from a Medusa or Basilisk has a 20% of being petrified immediately after. Petrified creatures forgo their turn for the remainder of the current combat round and the two combat rounds thereafter, unless they are attacked meanwhile. If so, they receive only 50% damage from melee and ranged attacks, but retaliate at full strength. The effect can be removed with Cure or Dispel. Petrifying attacks are negated by the Recanter's Cloak and Cursed Ground, but not by the Orb of Inhibition.
