Expansions typically refers to official additions, Armageddon's Blade and Shadow of Death, which both continue the story that was started with Heroes of Might and Magic III: Restoration of Erathia. Both expansions may be installed independently of each other and require the original game to be installed first. Sometimes Heroes Chronicles is considered to be an expansion, although it is more aimed as an introduction for beginners to the Heroes of Might and Magic series. Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete is a collection that includes the original game along with both expansions.
