Pikemen and Halberdiers are level 1 creatures of Castle, and can be recruited from Guardhouses. They are among the strongest basic foot soldiers available to any army. While somewhat slow, they have respectable combat ratings.

Although not mentioned within the game or manual, they are immune to Cavaliers and Champions jousting ability. It causes them to suffer damage from Cavaliers or Champions normally, but they do not recieve additonal +5% bonus if Cavaliers or Champions attack from the distance.
