Template talk:CreatureNew
Possible ideas for making ability text changes easier to notice
- Color the changed text green
- This can make the box look cluttered.
- RESOLUTION: Only do this for numerical changes.
- Add all new abilities on a subsequent line (after a line break).
- Phasma - Are you trying to mimic the exact way this shows up in-game, or is there some way we can organize the text to promote ease-of-use? --Legate (talk) 17:27, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe we could put each ability on it's own line and use an extended creature box image if it gets too long? Especially the elementals get a little tough to read as they have a million abilities. --Legate (talk)
- I designed the template such that the text should never overrun, even with the elementals' long descriptions (I tested this when designing, but in practice it may be different) - there is more space below even if we do need to overrun, or if it ends up too hard to read in your opinion. Otherwise I'm keeping it as the game is, or as close to it as possible. 17:36, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- See Water Elemental and Ice Elemental - changed line height to 14px and it fits in the allocated area! 17:50, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, that's fine. Looks like water elemental fits, but Ice Elemental overruns? --Legate (talk)
- Maybe refresh your browser's cache? It doesn't overrun at all for me? 17:59, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- This is what it looks like for me - no issues my end, but I can increase the size of the text box on the image if it's still overflowing your end. 18:02, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, I can check later in a different browser, but even with clearing the cache it is still overflowing. The 'and' is on the 2nd line for me and ultimately 'from Water' is bumped onto a 6th line. --Legate (talk) 18:06, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
