Comments
The percent bonus on Estates is overall a weaker specialty than the flat 350 gold bonus. Estates itself brings 125, 250, or 500 gold. To obtain 350 gold from the specialty bonus (independently of the gold produced by the Estates skill itself), a character needs to produce 280% of the Basic value. Since each greater skill level double the income, this becomes 140% of the Advanced value or 70% of the Expert value; meaning that if the character isn't at least level 14 with Expert Estate the fixed income of 350 is more interesting.

It can be a good idea to equip the resource-producing hero with resource-producing artifacts such as the components of the Cornucopia, the Endless Purse/Bag/Sack of Gold, and the Inexhaustible Carts of Lumber and Ore. This way, Heroes with specialties and skills more focused on combat or exploration have their skills and artifact slots freed.
