Marketplace is a structure where a player can trade resources to other resources, or give resources to other players. The number of marketplaces also denotes trading rates in Artifact Merchants, which can only be build in Tower, Dungeon, and Conflux towns, as well as trading rate in Freelancer's Guild, which can be built in Stronghold towns. Like in resource trading, the cheapest trading rate in these special buildings is reached with nine or more marketplaces.

A place in your town, where you can trade surplus resources for scarce ones.

If you have many marketplaces you get better trades:
* BR - Basic resources (Wood, Ore)
* MR - Magical resources (Crystal, Gems, Mercury, Sulfur)

The operation is always at a loss: selling X amount of resource A for Y amount of resource B, and then doing the reverse operation of trading Y amount resource B back for Z amount of resource A, will always give final result of Z much lesser than the starting X. This roughly follows the following formula:
400 units will be traded back for (n+1)² units, where n is the amount of cities with marketplaces that you own, capped to 9.

You can also give resources to enemies or allies.
