Value Analysis
Mystic Pond is a poor investment when compared the constuction cost to payback time. As the pond generates range of 1 to 4 resources per week, it means that the avarage resource production is 2,5 per week. This means that even if the cost of gold is left aside, it takes approximately five weeks for Mystic Pond to break even. If considered that with nine Marketplaces basic resource value 125 G and magical resource value is 250 G, it means that the construction cost converted to gold is 4500 G. While the value of randomly produced resources is about 520 G, it means that the payback time is approximately  nine weeks (or 8,64 to be exact). The payback time is also about five weeks, if resources are bought from one marketplace at the cost of 2500 G per basic resource and 5000 G per magical resource. In comparison, by using the same method of calculation to any one of the Resource Silos, their payback time is always the same, approximately four weeks (3,21 rounded up).

If you consider basic/magical resources to be valued at 125g/250g (9 marketplaces) then the gold value of the Mystic Pond is 4500g and the average weekly value of the randomly generated resources is 520.83g with a payback time of 8.64 weeks to recoup the value of the initial investment before you start turning a 'profit'.
This lead to conclusion, that Mystic Pond is only useful in two situations:
# It counts as an additional building so it will increase the damage output of arrow towers in a siege,
# If the map is incredibly resource poor, meaning there are no mines or very few mines available and very limited amount of resources lying on the Adventura Map.

This can be compared to resource silos, which have a payback time of 3.21 weeks (22.5 days) if you also use the 9 marketplaces values for resources.
Finally, even if the map lasts for more than few months, Mystic Pond is still inadvisable investement. This is due the fact that in order to profit from the Pond it should be constructed as early as possible, and typically at that point of the map there are several more important targets for the gold and resources (e.g. creature dwellings or creatures).

If you redo the calculations assuming you are buying resources out of one marketplace (2500g/5000g per resource) then the payback time is 'only' 4.99 weeks.

The Mystic Pond is only useful for two things:
1. It counts as an additional building so it will increase the damage output of your arrow towers in a siege
2. The map is incredibly resource poor with close to no mines and/or very limited loot-able resources

Note that even when games last 3+ months the Mystic Pond may still be poor value since the value of the investment must be front-loaded (you must invest in it very early on) and those resources would almost certainly be better spent on troops or other buildings. Considering all these things the Mystic Pond is nearly always a poor investment.

As the pond generates range of 1 to 4 resources per week, it means that the avarage resource production is 2,5 per week. This means that even if the cost of gold is left aside, it takes approximately five weeks for Mystic Pond to break even. If considered that with nine Marketplaces basic resource value 125 Gold and magical resource value is 250 Gold, it means that the construction cost converted to gold is 4500 Gold. While the value of randomly produced resources is about 520 Gold, it means that the payback time is approximately nine weeks (or 8,64 to be exact). The payback time is also about five weeks, if resources are bought from one marketplace at the cost of 2500 Gold per basic resource and 5000 Gold per magical resource.
