Teleporting vs Flying[edit]

Is there any difference between these two movement types? I vaguely recall some trivia site mentioning how Archdevils actually fly not teleport because of some difference. Can someone confirm? - Csaros (talk)

  • I think there is no difference between teleporting and flying. Arch Devils are just Flying creatures without moving animation. Here are some facts which can prove it.
    • The Arch Devils will not be harmed or blocked by Fire Walls, Quicksands, Force Fields, or Landmines on his path of movement.
    • The Arch Devils/Enengy Elementals ignored obstacles while moving and only moved one hex from start to finish.
  • But there is also a problem: The cursor that controls the movement of the Arch Devils and Enengy Elementals is the icon for walking creatures, not the icon for flying creatures.
    • In fact, in HoMM4, in a siege battle, flying creatures need to fly under the city wall in the first round before they can fly into the town in the next round, while Devils are teleported directly into the city within one round. Maybe HoMM4 is based on HoMM3, so telporting and flying are different.
  • Above all, in my opinion, Teleporting and Flying are the same things in HoMM3, because they have no different effects. --Sanust (talk) 03:09, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
