Wyverns have unappealing statistics in comparison to other level 6 units, being similar in strength as manticores. Unlike other level 6 creatures, their dwelling can be built extremely early - even as early as day 1, giving players a noticeable early game advantage. Additionally, if there are any Dragon Fly Hives available, the number of wyverns can easily outnumber other level 6 units, becoming the main powerstack of the army - even for factions other than Fortress.

The upgrade to wyvern monarchs is extremely good - it grants a 25% increase of damage output, and a very good speed of 11. It also gives a chance to poison the enemy while attacking - which, while being unreliable, can turn the tide of the fight to your favour.

Heroes with a specialty

  • Broghild Broghild the Beastmaster has wyverns as a specialty, which increases the attack and defense skills of any wyverns or wyvern monarchs for each level attained after 6th level and gives them a speed bonus of 1.
