Keybinds

Only available in HD Mod.

New keybinds have been added as quality of life changes in the Heroes III HotA + HD Mod. This list also includes classic Heroes III keybinds.

Combat Screen

C = Spellbook
D / Space = Defend
F = Creature spell (e.g. with Faerie Dragons)
G = Area attack (with Gogs and Liches) / Creature spell (e.g. with Faerie Dragons)
I = Show hero stats permanently
Q = Finish combat with Quick Combat
R = Retreat
S = Surrender
W = Wait
Z = Show/Hide turn order bar
CTRL + Mouse-over creature = See general movement
SHIFT + Mouse-over creature = See exact movement (calculate obstacles)
Up/Down Arrow Keys – Scrolls combat messages

E = End turn
G = Den of Thieves
H = Next hero
K = Kingdom Overview
M = Move hero along selected route
Q = Quest Log
R = Show the Dimension Door range around the center of the screen.
T = Next town
W = Wake hero
Z = Sleep hero
F5 = Toolbar (for enabling grid and other tools)
1 or 2 = Select option in message windows with a choice (Treasure Chests, Schools of Magic, Schools of War, etc.)
Alt + Shift + Left Click hero = Dismiss hero
Hold ALT + mouse-over tile = See movement points required to reach tile
Hold ALT + Left Click hero/town icon = Move hero/town to top of the list
SHIFT + Left Click hero = Make clicked hero the active one
SPACE + Hero is selected = Revisit tile hero is at (not when pressed, but when released)
Enter = Open hero/castle details

Q = Swap armies and artifacts
X / F11 = Swap artifacts
Z / F10 = Swap armies
CTRL + Left Click creature = Make 1 stacks, or remove 1 stacks
CTRL + ALT + Left Click creature = Move clicked army to castle/other hero
CTRL + SHIFT + Left Click creature = Fill empty slots with 1 stacks
ALT + Left Click creature = Merge all stacks into clicked creature
SHIFT + Left Click creature = Split creature into even stacks (you can do multiple clicks to divide the stack further)
SHIFT + ALT + Left Click creature = Dismiss creature
SHIFT + ALT + CTRL + Left Click creature = Move all army except 1 of the clicked creature to castle/other hero

CTRL + 1 - 9 = Create an equipment preset
1 - 9 = Equip artifacts from an equipment preset
SHIFT + Click on the item slot = Shows available items from backpack for given artifact slot

B = Marketplace
G = Thieves' Guild
S / Space = Switch heroes
T = Tavern
Z / F10 = Switch garrisons
1 / 2 + Space = In the Tavern, select a hero using 1 and 2 and recruit them using Space
1 - 4 + Space = In the University, select a skill using the number keys and buy it using Enter or Space
1 - 8 + Space = In recruitment windows, select a creature using the number keys and recruit them using Space (only works if the <UI.RecruitDlg.AutoSet> tweak is enabled)
Left Click castle icon (to the left of income icon) to see global buy menu
CTRL + Click castle icon (to the left of income icon) to instantly buy ALL available creatures
ALT + Click castle icon (to the left of income icon) to instantly buy ALL available creatures (Unupgraded)
CTRL + Click specific creature portrait to instantly buy the clicked creatures
ALT + Click specific creature portrait to instantly buy the clicked creatures (Unupgraded)
Alt + Shift + Left Click hero = Dismiss hero
Up/Down Arrow = Cycle to previous/next town
