Stormbirds are average-at-best fourth level creatures. Ayssids however gain tremendous advantages from the upgrade. They do among the best overall damage of all 4th level creatures, and the ability to strike twice (as long as at least 1 creature died from the initial attack) is invaluable. They are relatively fragile though, so protect them if you can with [[Shield]], [[Stone Skin]], or other such defensive spells.
