When setting up a multiplayer or single scenario game, human and computer players can be given an individual handicap. According to the manual, "Handicap will affect a player's starting resources", but in reality it also affects the daily resource income of the player.
- No Handicap - The default setting. No modification to resources.
- Mild Handicap - Starting resources and all resource income is reduced by 15%*
- Severe Handicap - Starting resources and all resource income is reduced by 30%*
* IMPORTANT NOTE: Since fractional resource income is rounded down, this handicap has a much greater effect when income for a given resource is low.
