Death Stare Calculation[edit | hide | hide all]

Need to think of the right way to display this, but I think this should be the info. Top row is # of units killed by death stare, Left Column is # of Mighty Gorgons. Here are my excel formulas to calculate this.

  • Excel tab 1 formula (base # killed): "=IFERROR(COMBIN($A2,B$1)*(0.1^B$1)*(0.9^($A2-B$1)),0)"
  • Excel tab 2 formula (clamp to maximum killed): "=IF(B$1<CEILING.MATH(($A2)/10), Unmod!B2, IF(B$1=CEILING.MATH(($A2)/10), SUM(Unmod!B2:Unmod!$M2), 0))"

NOTE: This is based on the Binomial Distribution formula of combinations(n,k) * pk * (1-p)n-k where:

  • p: probability of Death Stare = 0.1
  • n: # of Mighty Gorgons
  • k: # of Death Stare victims

My takeaway from this is that it is very important to break into the next set of 10 for # of gorgons as there is a very decent chance of killing the maximum allowed by death stare. --Legate (talk) 18:02, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
