= 2025 = == Oasis == I think it would be nice to have Oasis on the main page cut towns list and in the towns sidebar so it can be discovered easier. The art is so well done - more people should see it! I think you had a discussion with Nephretes at one point about this, but I don't remember if they wanted it mostly hidden for some reason. I seem to remember them not wanting a VCMI tag at least. --Legate (talk) 15:47, 5 November 2025 (UTC) * I'll ask him about it just to be sure - I just checked the messages and the most we got was that Neph doesn't want it associated with VCMI, like you said. Since it could very well be part of DOR in the future, I'm not sure what tags we should give it... so I guess we'll see depending on his answer! 16:07, 5 November 2025 (UTC) == "Unused" files == Hi Phasma - the only 2 Unused Files currently are "Leather-grey.png" and "HotA 1.7.0-Data-HotA vid-credit.webm". I think these are both used on the Main Page, but it isn't showing in the page code. Do you know how this is done, and if so, do you know of a way to mark them as used so they don't accidently get deleted? --Legate (talk) 17:49, 4 September 2025 (UTC) * Ah yes, the grey is used in H3CSS and Terra uploaded the webm for testing - I'll add them to my dump page for now! 18:08, 4 September 2025 (UTC) == Vision for H3CSS sidebar colors == Hi Phasma - What is your vision for colors on the various sidebars? Do you want to keep a similar color scheme to what we have in the non-H3CSS or use something like the darker leather for headers? Turnam figured out how to add transparency to the assigned colors (those 2 extra hex digits)...maybe we want to use something like that? Happy to help implement whatever your vision is. --Legate (talk) 21:35, 20 March 2025 (UTC) * I think that so long as text is legible, I'm fine with whatever. I'll always prefer no colours in sidebars personally, so I don't really have a say in this! Darker leather cutting straight into normal leather would look odd, so perhaps using borders with colour #e7ce8c may work? But I know you've got things colour-coded so we can just stick with that. Might have to change some text colours to black/white here and there but that's okay! 21:48, 20 March 2025 (UTC) ** I could be convinced on no colors as well...all the color work I did was just to standardize what we already had. ** I wonder - Could you giver H3CSS tables a default header color of something like style="background-color:#00000060!important;"? This just makes them slightly darker than the regular leather to show that they are header rows. Might be better than manually changing all the tables. --Legate (talk) 22:04, 20 March 2025 (UTC) *** Done! 22:26, 20 March 2025 (UTC) * I think where I have landed is preserving the color for the primary header, then letting the rest use the default leather setting. --Legate (talk) 23:29, 20 March 2025 (UTC) ** Sounds reasonable and sensible to me! 00:02, 21 March 2025 (UTC) * Is there a good way to set different settings for normal vs H3CSS (something like our swh template)? AFAIK, the !important tag makes the setting actually show in H3CSS as opposed to using the default, but can't be used to have different settings. This was ok enough when we had the default table headings being a little darker, I am just now looking for how to do that without overwriting the "normal" look. --Legate (talk) 13:58, 21 March 2025 (UTC) == Commander move == I'm not sure that's such a good idea. The WoG page was already quite big. It gets unwieldy. --Turnam (talk) 13:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC) :The principle is this: if we move Commanders, then why not move all other units to their own pages? Why not make artifact pages for all WOG artifacts? Why not give each WOG script its own page? I know the page is large, but it needs to be self-contained. WOG is already incredibly outdated and nobody plays old school WOG 3.59 any more. It's all ERA these days - bugs have been fixed, abilities and graphics are commonly changed, etc. so this page is just to archive what WOG "officially" was as of its last iteration. We can always make sections collapsible so people can show/hide whatever information they like to cut down on page space, but it really ought to be all in one place! 13:46, 12 June 2025 (UTC) :I've added the toggles to show/hide headers now, so the visual clutter is gone. 13:46, 12 June 2025 (UTC) ::I don't buy the slippery slope argument. Commanders are a very specific feature; one which is not exclusive to WoG as it is also fully supported by VCMI. It is already referenced on the Courtyard and Cathedral town pages. Basically all VCMI towns have a commander. Same cannot be said of miscellaneous scripts and artifacts. --Turnam (talk) 15:52, 12 June 2025 (UTC) :::Commanders are only supported in VCMI if WOG is enabled, so towns tend to have them for the sake of having a commander if WOG is enabled, otherwise they'd be lacking in that area and combats wouldn't be as fair. Courtyard is a VCMI mod and Cathedral was a concept when HOTA was still planning on using WOG as a base (and was since turned into a VCMI mod). I don't think it makes sense to say "Commanders can/should get their own page but other features can't/shouldn't," and the information is still here, just on the WOG page where everything else noteworthy about the mod is kept. WOG as it was as of 3.59 had brought a lot to the table for modders to play with and expand upon, but it was, ultimately, a buggy mess full of recoloured assets, kitbashed creatures, and is no longer played in that state; people who want that experience seek out doing so, while others use the fixed version we see in ERA or the scriptless version we see in VCMI. Having a single page that serves to archive WOG with key information that can be easily shown/hidden makes far more sense to me than sprouting off subpages when that isn't done for any other modded content that isn't HOTA or DOR, which are completely original expansions, hence why we document them.
