A 'swamp-boy', a human raised in the swamp among the creatures who became the first leader of Tatalia.
Story[edit | hide | hide all]
At that time, Erathia had enslaved the Mudlanders. Although not a slave himself, Droglo had spent much of his life battling the Erathians. He was captured and brought before Tarnum when he freed some Erathian captives accused of murdering children. As he had already killed the men responsible for this, he knew these captives were innocent. Droglo impressed Tarnum with his nuanced view of those following orders being less guilty than those giving the orders, and Tarnum from that moment began training him to be the leader of the Mudlanders.
Droglo aided Tarnum in the capture of Prince Niven, but questioned the honor in such an act. When Tarnum explained his plan of showing Niven the plight of the slaves, then releasing him, Droglo assented. After they did this, Prince Niven repented of his countries crimes and became fast friends with Droglo. When it was time to return Niven to his people, Tarnum expected an Erathian ambush. He dressed Droglo in his armor and tasked him an Niven with fending off the ambush and restoring Niven safely to his people. They succeeded, mostly due to Droglo's Wyverns.
Even with Prince Niven's help, Tarnum was still worried about the Mudlanders' ability to defeat the Erathians. Because of this, he sent Droglo to go enlist the aid of the Barbarians. Even though he should have been under Tarnum's protection, the Barbarians ignored their own custom and forced Droglo to fight one of their best warriors. Though he received an ugly scar along his jawline, Droglo succeeded in enlisting the Barbarians as mercenaries. After this, the wisewomen officially named Droglo as Tarnum's second-in-command and formed the nation of Tatalia.
The Tatalian revolt against the Erathians was drawing to a close. The Tatalian forces and the Erathians under now King Niven were working to manuever the forces of Mad King Gryphonheart into a battle. To attempt to prevent this, Mad King Gryphonheart sent an assassin to kill his own son, Niven, but Droglo intercepted and killed the would-be assassin.
In one of the final ambushes of the war, Tarnum was hit by a crossbow bolt and Droglo sped off after the attacker. He caught and killed the attacker at the foot of an ancient statue of Tarnum from when he was the Barbarian Tyrant. Shocked and confused, Droglo never gave Tarnum a chance to explain before the war ended and Tarnum vanished from his life forever.
