A flaggable structure that every day produces some [[Resources]] that are added to the treasury of the color whose flag it flies. Even if the daily resource generator for certain resources doesn't always look like a mine(like f.ex the [[Gem Pond]]), they are still often refered to as mines as a collective term. The game has actually six types of mines: cavern (3 mines), pit (1 mine), dune (1 mine), lab (1 mine), mill (1 mine) and pond type (1 mine). See list of mines below.

A mine is owned by the color of the last hero to visit it.
Mines can have creatures stationed in them in a similar way to [[garrison]]s. This feature was added in {{sod}} expansion. Regardless of where a crystal, gold or abandoned mine is placed, any combat taking place in it will use [[subterranean]] terrain for graphics and when determining [[native terrain]] bonuses.


Mines can have armies stationed in them, in a similar way to [[Garrison]]s.
It should be noted that [[Lighthouse]]s and [[Abandoned Mine]]s are '''also considered a type of mine''', so when the winning condition of the game is to flag all mines, don't forget to also flag all these on the adventure map.

Mines are adventure map locations, that can be flagged after which they will start to produce a particular resource for the player who owns the mine. There are eight different types of of mines: one for each resource type and abandoned mine. At the beginning of each day, mines produce resources as follows:

Regardless of where a crystal, gold or abandoned mine is placed, any combat taking place in it will use subterranean terrain for graphics and when determining native terrain bonuses.

It should be noted that Lighthouses and Abandoned Mines are also considered a type of mine, so when the winning condition of the game is to flag all mines, don't forget to also flag all these on the adventure map.
