Dwarves and Battle Dwarves are level 2 creatures of Rampart town. They are recruited from Dwarf Cottage.
"Because of their slowness, dwarves are perhaps best used to defend ranged attackers. Battle dwarves have greater mobility and are more versatile. Dwarves and battle dwarves have, respectively, a 20% and 40% resistance to magic which gives them a chance to ignore the effects of hostile spell attacks." RoE manual
Building the Miners' Guild increases dwarves' growth by 4 per week.
Heroes with a specialty
- Ufretin the Ranger has dwarves as a specialty, which increases the attack and defense skills of any dwarves or battle dwarves for each level attained after 2nd level, and gives them a speed bonus of 1.
