Silly Proposals

  1. Find a word from Heroes_Chronicles/Hc1Prev that is also a word from wikipedia.org/wiki/American_and_British_English_spelling_differences so we can determine whether or not this localization is EN-US or EN-GB.
    • I didn't see anything. The text isn't that long...it might be valid for both. The corrupted text makes it hard to tell though... --Legate (talk) 01:06, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

File list search

Anyone know why the File list is only searchable by username now and not filename anymore?

  • Using *solmyr* I was able to get two solmyr images. Can you confirm there are only 2 solmyr images on the wiki? –imahero 19:02, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
  • I searched for *well* and only got 2 items (Magic Well.gif and Artifact Wizard's Well.gif), then I searched for *snow* and the first item on the list was Magic Well (snow).gif. So...not working well. --Legate (talk) 20:27, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Backburner/unsolvable proposals

  1. Can scenarios have multiple loss conditions? Many campaign scenario descriptions are worded this way (e.g. Fall of Sandro). Is there a way to look this up in-game or in the map editor?
    • Yes they do have multiple loss conditions, but using both the SoD and HotA map editor on Fall of Sandro, I can't find anything that causes this. Guess we'll have to look into it as to how it's done, but yes, some of the maps definitely have a couple of loss conditions. → Phasma 01:39, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
      • Map editor shows only 1 special map loss condition, 1 special victory condition, and there's the standard lose condition. That makes 3 possible loss situations. How can it be extended outside of soft-locking f.e. ? - User: Csaros 18:33, 17 January 2023 (CET)
  2. Update the creature "parade" map below due to the new and updated creatures.

  • Future HotA update? On upcoming change of Factory to Good alignment: "In addition to balance among the factions, this brings us closer to the possible appearance of an evil faction." --Kastore

Bots and spam accounts

You've seen the posts. The sexually weird buy-my-book posts on this wiki added by fresh accounts. And every day or so I see the New Users log with hundreds of new names, each of the same type. "CorneliusPence7" "LolaDelgadillo7" "DebraFortner2" "DonnaFreund74" "LonaHiatt0" "AlicaMacvitie4". NameSurnameNumber. Now I'm not saying all aforementioned are definitely bots or spammers, but they are far more likely to be. Can we do something about it? Make accounts before x days old's new posts don't appear unless approved, or add some question(s) about Heroes 3 (such as "What Town does the Dwarf belong to" in the account-creation of the site to stop spam-bot accounts? - Csaros (talk) 14:15, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
