There was a very good reason for the strong community backlash to [[Forge (NWC)|Forge]]. I propose a moratorium on adding references to [[Forge (NWC)|Forge]] in regular pages and a cleanup of those references that currently exist. If you wish to add such content please add them to the [[Forge (NWC)|Forge]] page directly or add them as new pages to their respective category: [[:Category:Cut Content]] or [[:Category:Forge]]. I find it very very useful how you can see the chance of a hero to learn x secondary skill such as wisdom. However, what if we did it vice versa for the skill itself? For example, if you go to wisdom page, you could see the most likely heroes to learn it and the least likely. Does anyone have a problem with me doing this for all secondary skill pages? there is a problem with [[Ruins]], a new HotA object. it's a creature bank which contains 5 different creatures. existing creature banks only have up to 4 different creatures. turns out the [[Template:Creature_bank_row]] does not work for more more than 4 creatures and the result is that the fifth creature is pushed to the column "content". this makes it impossible to add a creature bank template to this page. i believe this is a limitation of [[Template:Table row]] which only allows 9 elements inside a row. i also believe this limitation is inherited from the [[Template:Table]]. can anyone more experiences with these templates look at this? --[[User:Foerno|Foerno]] ([[User talk:Foerno|talk]]) 03:07, 26 July 2018 (CEST)

You just dont know anymore if these wiki people are able to discern SoD and HotA at all. Even a personal template for one hero is not a big cost to avoid this. For some reason my editing of the Counter spells gets reversed all the time. Bloodlust and Weakness are NOT counters even though they don't work like Haste and Slow or Bless and Curse, they don't cancel each other out either. Why?, because Bloodlust is only for melee units and Weakness is for all units. Therefore they are not counters.

Love the wiki! I learned lots in a game I thought I already knew everything about!

The game might decrease in terms of graphics and videos over time (about cartoon quality pictures, a little bit better than the Simpsons TV show color sets), the sound is CD quality, the game resolution is not in a way that one would see each pixel like in the DOS era of games. The towns might be a little bit unbalanced, it is not quite chess. There are almost no bugs. The game has isometric views in 2D and is not 3D like the recent games of the series (now made by another studio than 3D0). The successor has heroes on the battlefield and not in a generals tent and a few minor modifications, heroes 1 was nice in terms of nice musical scores. The display part of the game is still way better than the Might and Magic series which was largely (up to, not including IX) sporting Doom era graphics where one could see the pixels. Sadly the game studio that ported the game to Linux (Loki games) died, but there seems to be an Android port in the works now.

Bah. Due to excessive botting I've had to add captcha on all edits, not just edits adding urls.
Retarded bot writers just let the bot keep trying with various random changes until it "succeeds" - which at that point they don't include any urls more, which make the whole thing pointless vandalism instead..

Terra - It's laughably easy, actually. You just type '''<nowiki>{{templatename}}</nowiki>''' and *poof*, a red link pops up. You can then do <nowiki>{{templatename|item1|item2}} which will be {{{1}}} and {{{2}}}</nowiki> in the template, and so on. The creature template have up till <nowiki>{{{14}}}</nowiki>.

Docevus - I was looking at the list of heroes and a question occurred to me.  Quite a few heroes specialiize in creatures and give those creatures bonuses based off the hero's level.  The problem is, what are those bonuses?  I know those creatures get +1 speed, and extra offense and defense, but I have no idea how to tell how much the offense and defense will increase.

[[User:John DiFool|John DiFool]]: Guess I wasn't as clear about the town costs as I should have been (I couldn't come up with a concise way of expressing what my intentions were).  The idea was "basic" just tells you how much gold & resources you need to get maximum creature production going, without upgrade costs, and without any other "unnecessary" buildings (hence things like Marketplaces and City Halls are NOT included).  This is important when deciding on what resources and mines you absolutely need, and which ones are just a bonus.  Upgrades of course are strictly for upgrades + prerequisites (like 3rd level Mage Guild to get Black Dragons).  Costs for EVERYTHING would be in the third column.  So if we decide to stick with this plan the "basic" Conflux costs will need a bit of reworking.  By the way the path to the Capitol will cost (if we assume no Fort or even Tavern is prebuilt):

40 Wood 25 Ore 26500 Gold

15 Wood 5 Ore 21000 Gold (Fort & Tavern prebuilt)

It is important to not double-count buildings (since I already included the Citadel & Castle in the basic costs they are not included here).  We could add this in I guess if we wanted to...

Hey all! I LOVE this Wiki and I’ve been using it A LOT the past years. Apart from being a HoMM3 major geek who have been playing the game since its release I’m also a programmer and I’ve started coding the game from scratch in the programming language Swift, I’ve not come that far but made some progress: you can find it on github repo named “Makt” under username “Sajjon” (I was not allowed to post a link)

Anyway, since I use this amazing wiki so much, I would love to be able to use it as a native iOS/macOS app! Open source of course… but doing so would require that TheLazy wiki exposes its content through an API, most preferably a REST API. Does such an API exist?
