In homm2 there was very small but non-zero chance for a warlock to learn Necro on level-up. So it was "fixed" in homm3? It'd like someone to confirm it. Alliumnsk (talk) 10:49, 23 November 2018 (CET)
: As far as the wiki is concerned there is no chance for a warlock to naturally learn necromancy. I have personally played warlocks many times and cannot remember ever being given the option to learn necromancy on level up. If you want to test this yourself, you could create a custom map with all the warlocks and use a repeatable event that gives a ton of experience. Test them all to see if any of them are ever given the option to learn necromancy. Restart the map and test until you are convinced. ―imahero 16:45, 23 November 2018 (CET)
I vaguely remember some really old version of heroes 3 allowing witches (from swamp) to naturally learn necromancy. Never heard warlocks. Probably erathia. I don't think it was a bug though, it was just bad design. --86.19.34.39 22:59, 22 December 2018 (CET)

The thread on HeroesCommunity that is cited in this article is indeed an authoritative source on Necromancy, but the original post was later refined and corrected by other posters in that thread. I therefore rewrote most of this page in an attempt to make it shorter, more accurate, and better organized.

Edit 30/6: Previous edits about which creatures could be raised as skeletons contained some mistakes, as I verified through testing. They are now corrected.

Hey ! What does "Creature Gathering" mean please ? You can delete my comment when you have answered and I will delete your answer when I have read it if you want. -EvilCherry
: Hello! No need to delete any comments. I believe it is one of the unwritten principles of wikipedias that comments and questions are not deleted unless someway offensive or otherwise inappropriate. But short answer to your question is nothing, because that term is ivented by one of this wiki's users who is quite creative with his writings. The purpose is to have descriptions from the manual in those text boxes. But I believe "Creature Gathering" refers to "harvesting" which is more widely used unofficial term. –Kapteeni Ruoska (talk) 07:45, 24 April 2015 (CEST)
