Keybinds

New keybinds have been added as quality of life changes in the Heroes III HotA + HD mod.

This list also includes classic Heroes III keybinds as well for completion.

Combat screen:

   W = Wait

   D or Space = Defend

   C = Spellbook

   R = Retreat 

   S = Surrender

   G = Area attack (with Gogs and Liches)

   Z = Show/Hide turn order bar

   I = Show hero stats permanently

   CTRL + mouse-over creature = See general movement

   SHIFT + mouse-over creature = See exact movement (calculate obstacles)

   Up/Down Arrow Keys – Scrolls combat messages

   Q = Finish combat with Quick Combat

Adventure screen:

   E = End turn

   1 or 2 = In message windows with a choice, these keys allow you to choose an option (Treasure Chests, Schools of Magic, Schools of War, Arenas, Coliseums of the Magi, etc.)

   SHIFT + Left Click hero = Make clicked hero the active one

   SPACE + Hero is selected = Revisit tile hero is at (not when pressed, but when released)

   Enter = Open hero/castle details

   Hold ALT + mouse-over tile = See movement points required to reach tile

   T = Next town 

   H = Next hero

   M = Complete movement

   Alt + Shift + Left Click hero = Dismiss hero

   H + M Spam = Cycle heroes and move them all

   Z = Sleep hero, W = Wake hero

   G = See den of thieves info

   Q = See quest log

   K = See kingdom overview

   F5 = Toolbar (for enabling grid and other tools)

Castle/hero-trade screen:

   F10/Z = Swap armies

   F11/X = Swap artifacts

   Q = Swap armies and artifacts

   CTRL + Left Click creature = Make 1 stacks, or remove 1 stacks

   CTRL + SHIFT + Left Click creature = Fill empty slots with 1 stacks

   ALT + Left Click creature = Merge all stacks into clicked creature

   SHIFT + Left Click creature = Split creature into even stacks (you can do multiple clicks to divide the stack further)

   CTRL + ALT + Left Click creature = Move clicked army to castle/other hero

   SHIFT + ALT + CTRL + Left Click creature = Move all army except 1 of the clicked creature to castle/other hero

   SHIFT + ALT + Left Click creature = Dismiss creature

Castle shortcuts:

   Up/Down Arrow = Cycle to previous/next town

   B = Open Marketplace

   T = Open Tavern

   G = Open Thieves' Guild

   Space/S = Switch heroes

   F10/Z = Switch garrisons

   Click castle icon (to the left of income icon) to see global buy menu

   CTRL + Click castle icon (to the left of income icon) to instantly buy ALL available creatures

   ALT + Click castle icon (to the left of income icon) to instantly buy ALL available creatures (Unupgraded)

   CTRL + Click specific creature portrait to instantly buy the clicked creatures

   ALT + Click specific creature portrait to instantly buy the clicked creatures (Unupgraded)

   Alt + Shift + Left Click hero = Dismiss hero

   1 or 2 + Space = In the tavern, you can select a hero using 1 and 2 and recruit them using Space

   1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 + Space = In windows for recruiting creatures/war machines, use the number keys to select a creature and recruit them with Space (only works if the <UI.RecruitDlg.AutoSet> tweak is enabled)

   1/2/3/4 = In the university window, you can select a skill using the number keys and buy it using Enter or Space
