However, at the beginning of each week (including the beginning of the map), the two heroes have a random number of creatures associated with the town type they represent with them. After either one is hired, the new hero appearing will only have one non-upgraded first level creature in his army. Additionally, at the beginning of each week, at least one of the heroes (left one) will be from the town the player represents.

Heroes can be bought from the tavern at the price of 2500 Gold. At the beginning of each week two new heroes will become available, one of which will always be from the town you began with (unless all the heroes from your town are already taken). If you buy a hero, another hero will become available in its place, but it will only have a single creature and may be from any town.

In the tavern screen above the heroes is a small box containing rumors. The game has a bunch of built-in rumors, but the mapmaker can enter own rumors as many of as he sees fit. This in mind, rumors can be extremely helpful on completely nonsense. Default rumors can for example reveal the terrain of which the grail is buried or which player has the most artifacts.

Hearing rumours

Above the selection of heroes is a small box containing rumours. For the most part you don't need to pay any attention to this but it may be occasionally helpful. Mapmakers are allowed to enter as many of their own rumours as they see fit, some may be helpful in the sense they reveal the location of treasures and points of interest.

For example this rumour can be found in the map A Viking we shall go! from the sod expansion:
In the North Sea, to west of Eire there is said to be a graveyard of dead ships.
There are also default rumours that you may find useful as well. Some reveal the terrain that the Grail is buried under and others point out which player has the most artifacts.

There is also a tavern available of the adventure map as well. It resembles the tavern of the Castle town. It works the same as a regular tavern.
Trivia: In the original ROE game, the heroes available in one of the on-map taverns would be different from the ones available in your castle.  But they changed this in a patch.

Requires: Village hall Cost: 500 Gold + 5 Wood

Hiring heroes

Heroes can be hired to the service of kingdom at the price of 2500 Gold. There are always two new heroes available for hire, and if one is hired, a new one will appear.

Hearing rumors

In the tavern screen above the heroes is a small box containing rumors. The game has a bunch of built-in rumors, but the mapmaker can enter own rumors as many of as he sees fit. This in mind, rumors can be extremely helpful on completely nonsense. Default rumors can for example reveal the terrain of which the grail is buried or which player has the most artifacts.
