Talk:Bone Dragon and Ghost Dragon
Discussion
Bone Dragons and Ghost Dragons are often considered to be among the weakest level 7 creatures. They are not as powerful as regular dragons, and do not share most of their features, like breath attack. While Aging can effectively cripple an enemy stack, it is quite unreliable.
They are relatively fast, even for 7th level creatures, and have slightly above average attack stat as well. Use them defensively to clean up Troop stacks in the first few rounds of combat and try to keep them from being overwhelmed as they will falter when they get teamed up on.
Comments
"The Bone Dragon is almost treated like a level six unit, mostly because of its statistics... that look like those of a level six unit."
Not really? Bone dragons have (quite a bit) more damage, health and immunities than the strongest level six, not to mention morale penalty to enemy, which is especially useful in conjunction with expert Sorrow, Spirit of Oppression, and eventual morale penalties the enemy army may already be experiencing. - I think you're probably right; it requires proper strategy to take advantage of its abilities, though, and it's still the weakest level 7 creature. By contrast, Ghost Dragons are arguably not the weakest level 7 upgrade ... though they're still pretty far down the list. Memetics 01:27, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
Bone Dragons from Skeleton Transformer
In my version of Heroes 3 (Restoration of Erathia - not sure exactly which patch), Bone Dragons are turned into skeletons in the Skeleton Transformer. I've yet to test other Dragons in the transformer (I'll do so tomorrow, if I remember), but I'd appreciate if someone else could confirm whether Dragons are turned into Skeletons or Bone Dragons in RoE (and maybe SoD/AB, too) Ibraesil (talk) 14:44, 6 November 2015 (CET)
- I just tested, and Hydras, Chaos Hydras, Green, Gold, Red and Black Dragons all get turned into Bone Dragons, but Bone Dragons and Ghost Dragons get turned into skeletons. Ibraesil (talk) 02:12, 7 November 2015 (CET)
