Sharpshooters are level 4 neutral creatures recruited from the Treetop Tower.
Halflings are a level 1 neutral creature recruited from the Thatched Hut. Their cost is 40 Gold, but when recruited from the adventure map, they are recruited for free.

"Specially trained by the guerrilla warrior Gelu, Sharpshooters are a select troop. Recruited from the ranks of Archers, Marksmen, Wood Elves, and Grand Elves, Sharpshooters use a huge recursive, compound longbow. More than five feet in length, three bowstrings running through the pulleys on both ends, aid in the power and precision of their attacks. With their training, distance and siege walls are not a hindrance."AB manual

General tactics and info
Special ability
Like most ranged units, they are very vulnerable in melee. This applies especially to Sharpshooters, whose health is only 15, the lowest for a level 4 creature. However, they are neutral creatures and deal great amounts of damage, even in relatively low numbers.
The positive luck ability of halflings can be affected by Hourglass of the Evil Hour or Cursed Ground magical terrain only. Their luck cannot be decreased below +1 by any other luck modifier (including luck-decreasing artifacts and Fields of Glory magical terrain in hota).

Halflings are unable to get luck unless being commanded by a hero, like all the other neutral creatures, despite the game saying that they have +1 luck (fixed in hota).

Halflings are a level 1 neutral creature recruited from the Thatched Hut. Their cost is 40 Gold, but when recruited from the adventure map, they are recruited for free.

"Armed with sling and stone, halflings have found a harsh existence in Antagrich. Driven from their homes by the Kreegans, halflings have been scattered to the winds. These noble fighters take refuge in the earth and have an uncanny sense of luck." AB manual

Special ability

The positive luck ability of halflings can be affected by Hourglass of the Evil Hour or Cursed Ground magical terrain only. Their luck cannot be decreased below +1 by any other luck modifier (including luck-decreasing artifacts and Fields of Glory magical terrain in Horn of the Abyss Horn of the Abyss).

Halflings are unable to get luck unless being commanded by a hero, like all the other neutral creatures, despite the game saying that they have +1 luck (fixed in Horn of the Abyss Horn of the Abyss).

Appearance

Halflings were added in Armageddon's Blade so there are no Halflings or Thatched Huts in Restoration of Erathia.
