Note - Tidewater in some sources is a Capital of Tatalia, others place it as a city of Erathia near swamps

  • What's the source of the former?--FirePaladin2 (talk) 16:25, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
  • Tidewater is never called capital of Tatalia in any official source, but is indeed depicted as an Erathian city in MM7. However, one can call it "capital of Tatalia" in the sense that Tidewater is the main city in an Erathian duchy that is often called Tatalia. --XEL (talk) 02:06, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

Location[edit | hide | hide all]

I think we can add this to Marshland as the Borderlands campaign map contains this whole region of Erathia. Or are we thinking that the city of Tidewater in an Erathian enclave within Tatalia? The mm7 map shows it around the point the ocean reaches farthest east...which the Borderlands map shows as Tatalia... Thoughts? --Legate (talk) 19:30, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

  • The coastline in the MM7 Tatalia region does strongly point to Tidewater being in that easternmost point of the bay. That the region around Tidewater is called Tatalia in-universe also fits well with it being on the other side of the RoE Erathian-Tatalian border, as does the fact that Lord Markham's title is Duke of the Western Lowlands [Tatalian Lowlands]. This would mean that the duchy of Tatalia, including the swampland between Tidewater and Marshland's border, de-facto belongs to Erathia, possibly having both Erathian and Tatalian presence. Similar to how the Contested Lands are behind Erathia's border in RoE, but AvLee also has a claim on them, or how there are AvLeean settlers in Rionpoint, but it's shown entirely within Erathia's border. That's why I used the phrase "on the souther edge of Tatalia", which could be read as it being around the border of Marshland, but also fits with Tidewater's apparent location further to the north. --XEL (talk) 20:24, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
