Offense adds 10%, 20% or 30% damage to the base damage of any Melee attacks from a hero’s troops. It does not multiply total damage by 110%, 120% or 130%.
To illustrate, take a creature stack that without offense does 100 base damage and 50 bonus damage from its high attack skill for a total of 150 damage. With expert offense, the total damage of 150 is not multiplied by 130% and is therefore not 195. Instead, the base damage of 100 is multiplied by 30%, which is added to the 100 base damage and 50 bonus damage for a total of 100 + 50 + 30 = 180 damage. In this case, then, expert offense adds only 20% damage, instead of 30%. In reality, the offense bonus is therefore 30% only when no other bonuses, such as from luck, death blow, or high attack skill are added.
