Shalongrarg
This one's a bit of a handful to explain, but, despite this not being explicitly stated, Rise of the Necromancer apparently takes place after the Night of Shooting Stars. This would mean that Shalongrarg, Jared and the Inferno from Target are part of the Kreegan ilk.
Unholy Alliance (and by extension, Rise of the Necromancer) takes place soon after Elixir of Life, with "Lord Falorel" being killed by Sandro after the latter arrived in Deyja. Gelu's age is also important here. He was a baby when he was found in 1150, so he could be born a few years before that at the latest. In Elixir of Life, he is stated to be the youngest member of the Forest Guard (and Sandro later calls him "boy" and "snippet"), but he should be at the very least 13-14 during that campaign. So, Elixir apparently takes place around 1162-63, maybe 1161-62 at the earliest. All this points to Target being after the Night of Shooting Stars.
Also (more circumstantial and open for interpretation): in Search for a Killer, it is mentioned that the Shandar once was a shipping route for trading with the halflings, and Eeofol is already shown as scorched in Rise of the Necromancer. Granted, trade could have stopped due to other reasons, and we know that Eeofol is a volcanic range, with Fire Coast (which is not as scorched and hellish as Kreegan Eeofol) also being shown as volcanic on the map. But still.
Getting back to Shalongrarg, I think there is much more reason to believe that he and Jared are from the Kreegan Eeofol. After all, it is mentioned that there were some minor skirmishes with Eeofol's forces between when the Kreegans ended their initial attack and the Restoration Wars. Jared could have been making his raids during that time.
Overall, I think it'd be best to rephrase the Shalongrarg mention for clarity or remove it altogether. --XEL (talk) 01:43, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
