Ziggurat

Fangarms are level 5 neutral creatures recruited from the Ziggurat.

Special Ability: Hypnotize

Fangarms cast Advanced Hypnotize for 3 rounds on an attacked stack.

Spell Power of Hypnotize spell is equal to the number of creatures in a Fangarm squad while checking the possibility of applying Hypnotize (this means it affects a squad with total health (counting damage of current attack) not greater than 20 + 25*(Fangarm count)). If the requirements of casting Hypnotize are met, it will be cast with 100% chance. In case of a successful cast of Hypnotize, attacked stack won't retaliate (or won't attack twice if Fangarms are counterattacking).

Artifacts

With the Horn of the Abyss artifact equipped, the hero will automatically raise Fangarms from all dead stacks of living creatures (no matter allied or enemy) on the battlefield. After a stack of living creatures is slain, a stack of Fangarms will rise in their stead and will stay loyal to the hero after the battle concludes. Total Hit Points of this stack will be equal to half of the slain stack's total Hit Points, but the quantity of Fangarms summoned cannot exceed half of the quantity of creatures in the slain stack. Slaying Fangarms will not trigger this effect.

Spell interactions

Fangarms under the effect of  Berserk will hypnotize creatures attacked by them and transfer control over them to the other player.

Fangarms will not hypnotize already hypnotized units.

Some may find the information in this section subjective or irrelevant.

Before fighting Fangarms, always try to count your HP and compare it with Fangarm's Hypnosis power. Any of your unit stacks getting hypnotized can cause you to lose the battle.

Fangarms retaliation cannot be removed using one-stacks; additionally, one-stacks with HP above 15 have a chance of surviving a Fangarm's attack and removing your powerstack's retaliation. It is advised to try to body-block the Fangarm with low hp one-stacks and kill him in as few blows as possible with the main stack.

When split, Fangarms are much weaker than in a single stack. Fangarms in split stacks have much lower power of their Hypnotize spell on attack and therefore pose much less of a threat. A fast powerstack can often outmanoeuvre the Fangarms and kill them.

Using Orb of Vulnerability allows you to Hypnotize or Berserk a Fangarm, in turn making it able to Hypnotize other creatures for you.

Fangarms are a reference to the Cthulhu, an ancient creature devised by Howard Philips Lovecraft.

The name "Fangarm" comes from Norwegian. It means "tentacle".
