Ogre and Ogre Mage are level 4 creatures of Stronghold town. They are recruited from the Ogre Fort.
"Wielding great wooden clubs, ogres and ogre mages deal good damage and are very durable. Ogre magi can cast the Bloodlust spell on any allied troop, once per round." RoE manual
Tactics and info
Ogre Magi cast Bloodlust three times per battle at the advanced level.
Though hindered by their slow speed, Ogres and Ogre Magi have the highest attack and health of any 4th level unit in the game. However, their defense is still low.
Heroes with a specialty
- Vey the Battle Mage,
- Krellion the Barbarian and
- Boragus the Barbarian have ogres as a specialty, which increases the attack and defense skills of any ogres or ogre magi for each level attained after 4th level and gives them a speed bonus of 1.
Trivia
In one of the Armageddon's Blade teasers, the Ogre was shown shooting a beam of energy from his staff towards a Dendroid. The reason for that is because the teaser animations were already done and were supposed to show a Stinger or Bruiser instead, the Forge version of the Ogre, which bore a rocket launcher or Bazooka. However, due to fan backlash, they had to change the Forge creatures into "regular" creatures, and so the teaser became somewhat off-topic with ranged Goblins, a Minotaur and an Ogre guarding the Varn Vault where the Armageddon's Blade was kept.
