Proposals
Dear Visitor, if you have some time, the wiki gladly offers you some options:
General/Ongoing
- Help clear the Maintenance Reports for unused/broken/wanted items!
- Check out and verify Did you know?#Unverified claims
- Look for pages that need help and report them here (e.g. unreadable color scheme, missing info)
Specific
Site interface
- Read through the site interface strings and see if anything could be changed to benefit the site.
File upload/editing
- Upload pictures of all town creature dwellings
and town unique buildings. (Page: e.g. Template: Tower creature dwellings)- Fortress creature dwellings currently exist (with the exception of the Wyvern Nest)
- The pics for Template:Cove unique buildings are a different size from all the other towns' unique buildings. Edit them to match.
- Upload missing cursor pictures (Page: Cursors)
- The remaining wanted pages are actually missing map files.
- What is the best way to get map files? Open up the editor and screenshot/crop? Find them somewhere online? --Legate (talk) 20:54, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know how Phasma was doing it but I just make screenshots in the map editor and then realign them all after. When I did that last big one I had to use cheat engine to change the zoom so that I could do it with fewer screenshots. And yes it's entirely possible there's an easier way. Possibly make use of heroesmaps.org/heroes3mapscan. –imahero 21:22, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- I do just that: turn off all animations in map editor, take multiple screenshots, delete the unnecessary areas, align them in GIMP, save an original copy, and finally create a small copy for uploading here. I'm doing them over time since they take a while, and I've done all the small and medium maps so far. I'll do some more before the year ends too :) 12:47, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
- The high-level map pictures for each campaign scenario (on the screen where you select the level bonus before the cinematic plays).
Page Creation/Updating
- Design a new main page. Save it on [[your user page/main page]] so we can see it.
- Breath Attack could use a diagram of how it works (specifically when attacking straight up or down)
- Obstacle Penalty could use a diagram on how it works. Is it everything inside the ring wall? Does obstacle penalty disappear when the wall goes down?
- Map Editor could use a bunch more info.
- Most HotA campaign pages need work:
- Alright, the new scenario template (Template:Scenario) is sweet. Let's update all the scenarios to it!
- Start from List_of_maps_(HotA)

- For Template:Scenario: Make templates to support bonus section (See bonus section of template for examples):
Creature bonus (e.g. {{Crbon|Royal Griffin|6}} if the bonus is 6 Royal Griffins)Artifact bonusBuilding bonusHero bonusResource bonus- Done...but has an alignment problem. --Legate (talk) 16:41, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- I changed it a bit. But I can't get rid of the border on the resources. If there was no border it wouldn't appear so out of line with the others I think. –imahero 21:21, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- Just remove the "border: 1px solid #{{Blue 2b}};" from the table style at the top. I originally added the border to make it close to what you see in game, but I don't really have a pref. --Legate (talk) 21:28, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- Check if these items can be displayed using these templates:
- First Aid Tent (i.e. war machines)
- Prayer spell scroll (i.e. specific spells on scrolls)
- Heroes from a certain scenario (See Steadwick's Fall)
- Random Hero
- Creatures appearing at a certain location (See Steadwick's Liberation)
- Secondary Skills
- Certain level of Mage Guild
- bonus primary skill stats
